Championship club Halifax Panthers have announced the signing of Gold Coast Titans man Jesse Soric ahead of the 2026 season.
Soric has penned a two-year deal with the Panthers and that ensures he will be in West Yorkshire until the end of the 2027 campaign. The half-back, who can also play as a full-back, is a Serbia international and despite being just 23-years-old, he already has four caps for his country.
His last outing for Serbia came in autumn when he helped the nation to a 52-12 win over Malta with the playmaker scoring a try on the day, too.
Soric has spent the last year with Gold Coast Titans and before then he was playing in the development system at New Zealand Warriors, where he was a member of the club’s Jersey Flegg team.
He is yet to make a senior appearance at club level, but he’ll hope to showcase his ability and make strides at The Shay after signing up to work under Kyle Eastmond. The half-back becomes the club’s eighth signing of the off-season as the Panthers look to make progress and improve on last season’s fifth placed finish.
The Panthers have landed Alfie Johnson and Dan Okoro from Warrington Wolves, while Tanguy Zenon, Darius Carter, Bayley Liu and Ben Forster have also joined the club. Fax have also added Wakefield Trinity youngster Myles Lawford on a season-long loan.
Eastmond’s side don’t have too long to wait before their first game of 2026 either, with Rochdale Hornets making the journey over the Pennines for a friendly that will act as James Saltonstall’s testimonial.
The club will get their Championship season underway on Sunday January 18, when they take on Doncaster at the Eco-Power Stadium.
