As the January transfer window opens, the club is seeking additions to bolster the team and enable Wilfried Nancy to shape the squad in his image.

They are reportedly scouting for reinforcements in the centre-forward and defensive positions.

Nancy has not ruled out the possibility of securing new signings in time for the high-stakes encounter with Rangers.

He told Sky Sports: “When the window is going to be open, this is an opportunity to get better.

“So, we’ll see what we’re going to do.”

When asked whether the signings could come before the weekend clash, Nancy said: “Again, we are working on that.

“And, after that, we’ll see what we’re going to do.”

The Frenchman insists he does not feel he is under pressure in his job despite five defeats from his seven games heading into the derby.

Nancy confidently stated: “As a manager, personally, this is not something that I want and this is not something that we want.

“After that, the pressure doesn’t change the way I think about this because we know that we have to do better.

“But for the moment, this is a bit the reality.”

The manager acknowledged the need for improvement following their patchy form but said he was prepared for this situation from the outset.

He added: “I knew that it could be like that.

“We had good games at certain moments.

“Tonight is a difficult one.

“The last game, the first half was really good.

“The second half could have been better.

“So this is a bit the reality.”
