An animal charity in Guernsey said it ended 2025 with the rescue of its third seal pup in December.
The Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) said two pups were rescued earlier in December which were named Frosty and Blizzard.
Geoff George, head of marine mammals at GSPCA, said: “New Years Eve we had another call for a third pup rescue who looked poorly and half the weight it should be with no mother in site.”
He added the six week old male seal, which they named Glacier, was found at Fairy Ring Pleinmont and was 19kgs (41.88lb), was “very dehydrated with a chest infection”, and would need “some months of care and likely antibiotics.”
