YouTube star Danny Aarons has insisted that he won’t box again after suffering a horror injury filming a new video.
Aarons was taking part in KSI’s new challenge where fans would go through the levels sparring with boxers to see how long they could survive. The test began with a low level YouTube boxer, before moving on to a decent Misfits Boxing star. From there they would take on journeyman pro boxer Ty Mitchell.
Only one fighter made it all the way to the final round, where they were put in with British cruiserweight champion Viddal Riley. The entire thing was overseen by UFC star Michael ‘Venom’ Page, who acted as referee for every round.
Danny Aarons insists he won’t box again after suffering horror injury
One of the most explosive moments in KSI’s new boxing challenge came when medics had to be called for a gruesome knee injury suffered by FIFA YouTuber Danny Aarons. The Brit immediately crumpled to the floor and required oxygen, eventually going to hospital.
However, he gave a memorable interview to reporter Fred Beck a la Conor McGregor and Joe Rogan after UFC 264 in 2021. And while waiting for an ambulance to take him away, Aarons gave Beck another interview for his Fred Talks Fighting channel where he admitted his boxing days are behind him.
“I can’t walk down stairs right now and that’s told me boxing’s not for me any more,” Aarons admitted. “I’m a dad now, first time I hop back in the ring and I do my knee? Embarrassing, mate. And I was getting pieced up as well. I need to call it a day, mate. I’ll just do charity [soccer] matches honestly.”
KSI offers potential timeline for return to boxing next year
The video was shot weeks ago, and after the fact Aarons sat down for a podcast with KSI where they discussed the ordeal. They both appear to be over the boxing game for now, although KSI did note that he might be able to return after hand surgery at some point midway through next year.

“I literally can’t fight,” he explained, before noting that he will undergo surgery in November that will take six months from which to recover, at which point he would consider re-entering a camp. “I still train, I did a Hyrox.
“Not the event but just the training. I did a 1km run, then a 1000m row, 1km run and so on… Not every day, that’s not great for your body but I do train.”
