The new Super League season is a little over a month away but some players still haven’t found new clubs after being released at the end of the 2025 campaign.
Most Super League sides have completed their recruitment now, but there are still opportunities in the game, and many will be keeping an eye on the free agent market should injuries strike.
There are openings in the Championship, too, most notably with Salford RLFC as the phoenix club pushes to get an entire squad on board before their season opener next week.
With that in mind, here’s a look at 17 men still without a club after leaving Super League clubs.
Super League free agents still available
Brad Dwyer
The hooker has reached the end of his deal with Leigh Leopards and where he will be playing next season is still up in the air. He has business interests away from sport, but he will feel as though he still has plenty left to offer in Super League.
Aidan McGowan
Released by Huddersfield Giants at the end of the season, McGowan is still looking for a new club. He made 17 appearances for the Giants and spent a period of time on loan at Batley Bulldogs last season. He has been working as a PT over the last few months.
Ashton Golding
Golding was released by Huddersfield last month by mutual consent, bringing an end to five years at the club. His next steps remain unknown. He was linked with a move to Leeds Rhinos but that has been dismissed by Ian Blease.
Jack Walker
The former Leeds Rhinos and Hull FC full-back penned a short-term deal with Salford Red Devils last season and had an agreement in place for 2026. However, with the Red Devils being wound up, he is now without a club. He has recently been linked with a switch to Oldham.
Zac Bardsley-Rowe
The youngster was released without the offer of a new deal by Warrington Wolves this autumn. He never played first-team for the Wolves but has picked up experience with Widnes Vikings, North Wales Crusaders and London Broncos.
Will Roberts
The former St Helens man has been linked with a move to York Knights but nothing has been confirmed on that front.
Lachlan Fitzgibbon
Another to leave Warrington Wolves, Fitzgibbon was released by the club after making 41 appearances in two seasons. A move back to Australia has been touted but nothing has been confirmed.
Bayley Sironen
Sironen parted ways with Catalans Dragons at the end of the Super League season and has been linked with a move to St Helens to play alongside his brother. However, the 28-year-old’s next step in the game is yet to be confirmed.
Liam Watts
The veteran left Hull FC after a making eight appearances during his second spell with the club. However, at the age of 35, it remains to be seen if he will play on

Tex Hoy
Hoy left Castleford Tigers last month to return to Australia. He spent a season and a half with the Tigers. Given he has gone back home, a switch to another Super League clubs appears unlikely, but he’s available all the same.
Isaac Shaw
The 23-year-old was another to pen a short-term deal with Salford after his spell with Wakefield Trinity. He made three appearances off the bench for the Red Devils
Nolan Tupaea
Another to leave Warrington Wolves, Tupaea spent time at Keighley Cougars and Halifax Panthers on loan last season but couldn’t do enough to earn a new deal at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Jack Potter
Potter joined York Knights from Hull KR in 2023, but he made just three appearances for the club before being released over the off-season.
Alec Tuitavake
Derek Beaumont confirmed Tuitavake had left the club in a Facebook post last month to return down under. He made 24 appearances and scored three tries for the club.
