Jodie’s identity is rumbled as she grows closer to the Platts

Drama continues on the cobbles next week as the people of Weatherfield come to terms with the fatal events which saw Billy Mayhew lose his life. But things aren’t slowing after Corriedale as Debbie finds herself in court, Becky threatens to take Lisa down and newcomer Jodie inserts herself into the lives of one family on the street.
At the start of next week, a furious Betsy visits Becky in prison and tells her how she feels about what she did. Becky’s anger is evident. Carla calls round to check on Betsy and Betsy begs her to stay.
Meanwhile, David and Shona are taken aback when Jodie reveals she was involved in the same car crash as they were. David finds Jodie in the hospital car park suffering a panic attack. Jodie tells David she’s got nowhere to stay.
At the hotel, Ryan shows Debbie the accounts and explains that Carl’s been stealing money from her for months.
Later in the week, David introduces Jodie to Bethany and Lily, who take an instant liking to her. While David is at the hospital, Nick calls at number eight and is startled to find Jodie there.

David and Shona arrive home to find Nick and Jodie daggers drawn. Shona’s concerned to notice some bruising on Jodie’s wrist, she tells them that she was trying to escape an abusive relationship but she ended up in the car crash. But is she telling the truth?
Ronnie confides in Michael that he fears Debbie’s going to ignore advice to plead not guilty and he’s terrified at the prospect of losing her. At the flat, Debbie gets upset when Kevin calls round to try and get her to change her mind. Ronnie ushers him out.
The new soap power hour on ITV means that fans can tune in every weeknight, instead of just three times a week. On Thursday, Carl calls at the flat and puts pressure on Debbie to plead guilty.
Bernie calls at the flat and tells Debbie that she mustn’t blame herself, Billy’s death was an accident and he’d want her to plead not guilty. Ronnie agrees while Carl masks his panic.

The guilt gets to Todd as Summer calls at the shop flat with a lovely photo of Billy and suggests to Todd they display it at his funeral. Todd struggles to write Billy’s eulogy.
As David and Shona coo over new baby Harper, suddenly an alarm sounds. The doctor breaks the news to David and Shona that Harper needs a blood transfusion. David and Shona cling to each other, petrified for their daughter.
As Ronnie enters the café he overhears Mary and Asha discussing the crash. Ronnie tells them how sorry Debbie is for everything and hurries back out, clearly upset.
As the ambulance pulls up at the undertakers to deliver Billy’s body, Summer breaks down in tears and Todd does his best to comfort her. On the street, Summer’s incensed to see Debbie enjoying a laugh with Ronnie.
