The Traitors viewers were in agreement as the BBC series introduced a roundtable twist in the most recent episode of the hit show.

As Wednesday’s (January 7) installment finally rolled around, viewers were in for a treat as the secret traitor was finally revealed after a week of waiting.

As traitors Stephen and Rachel awaited in the turret, the red-cloaked individual walked in ready to reveal themselves. Fiona, from Swansea, lifted the hood of her red cloak to reveal her identity, then said to her fellow traitors: “I was wonderful, wasn’t I?”

Stephen praised her as playing “a very, very good game”. Rachel said that Fiona makes her nervous, and said she thinks she will “ruffle some feathers” in her role.

The reveal comes after the first traitor of the series, Hugo, was banished after a roundtable discussion. As Hugo left the show, he said: “Guys you are sending someone home who has the forensic skills to find the traitors, you’re all super smart, lovely people, and I’ll never have an experience like this again in my life, so thank you all so much. I am a traitor.”

During the most recent episode, the contestants were left surprised as Claudia Winkleman announced that they’ll be having a morning roundtable after the traitors had shortlisted a group to murder.

The roundtable became heated with discussion, particularly as Reece, Ross and Sam received votes from their fellow faithfuls. However, viewers watching admitted they think it was “quite cruel” to have a roundtable this early.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), @tweetsbyrayran wrote: “Roundtable after breakfast is quite cruel to the faithfuls – the faithfuls have just banished a traitor and they have a little chance of regrouping and voting sensibly again so quickly.”

@tayifilm added: “Hold the phone!!! A Roundtable this early?!?!” as @phlookslikelucy penned: “SORRY A ROUNDTABLE BEFORE THE MISSION???”

Sadly, as the roundtable concluded it was faithful Ross who was next to be banished. As he stood in front of everyone, he announced: “This has actually been fun, it’s been really fun. It’s been lovely to meet you all.”

He continued: “I feel like, made lifetime friends. I got a real bad hand, think you’d all agree. I have and always have been a faithful.”
