A binge-worthy thriller featuring Line of Duty’s Taj Atwal has been proving popular on Netflix since it was added a few weeks ago. Captivated, which first premiered on 5 last year under the title Too Good to Be True, focuses on a cleaner who accepts a job from a rich client.

Kara Tointon portrays central character Rachel, who is also a single mother – though after she gets a lucrative job offer from the enigmatic Elliot (Allen Leech), she learns that it may be too good to be true.

Atwal plays the role of Jasmine, while the four-part series also features Doctor Who’s Sara Powell and Cold Feet’s John Thomson.

Captivated has now enjoyed over two weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 UK chart, currently sitting at the number eight position.

Viewers have previously given their verdict on the show, with one on IMDb saying they were fittingly “captivated” by the series, even with “some weak points”. Another called it “a solid drama that deserves a watch”.

Meanwhile, Atwal’s show Line of Duty was recently confirmed to be returning for a seventh season after months of speculation, with Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure and Martin Compston all set to come back as Ted Hastings, Kate Fleming and Steve Arnott.

“Everyone involved in Line of Duty feels enormous gratitude to the show’s fans,” creator Jed Mercurio said at the time.

“We’re privileged to have had so many of you follow the ups and downs of AC-12 over six previous seasons and we couldn’t be more delighted to be returning for a seventh. Corruption in this country is supposed to have come to an end while Line of Duty was off air so I’ve been forced to use my imagination.”

“Line of Duty has been a job of a lifetime,” Compston said. “Not only in terms of the show’s success but the people I’ve had the opportunity to work with I now call some of my closest friends. I can’t wait to pull the waistcoat on again and get the team back together.”

Captivated is streaming now on Netflix.
