Burley in Wharfedale Cricket Club was awarded £1,000 by David Wilson Homes, to help fund new kits for the men’s T20 team.

The housebuilder is currently developing its Centurion Meadows and Imperial Court sites nearby.

Richard Watson, chairman of Burley in Wharfedale Cricket Club, said: “We are pleased to be working with a national brand which is active in supporting the local community.

“Our players really like the new kit and a number of them have asked for it to be stocked at the club shop at PC Sports in Yeadon.

“We are thankful for the support from David Wilson Homes.

“It’s always important for a company coming into an area to reach out and support the community and its residents.”

The club fields nine junior teams, three senior men’s teams, and three senior women’s teams.

The club recently hosted an exhibition match featuring former international players.

Gavin Birch, managing director of David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, said: “We look forward to seeing how the club fares in the future and will be cheering them on in this year’s T20 league.”
