West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville has opened up about his first impressions of new signings Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe.

It was no surprise when West Ham signed Pablo and Taty Castellanos earlier this month, with the need for more attacking depth at the London Stadium obvious to see.

Taty scored his first goal for the Hammers during their third round FA Cup win over Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

The FA Cup victory was a timely boost for Nuno Espirito Santo and his players, as was Taty’s goal and Summerville‘s assist for the Argentine.

The Hammers have some serious work to do if they are to fight their way out of trouble.

However, the win against QPR at least gives them a platform from which to build.

And Summerville, Taty and Pablo all finding form at the right time will certainly help West Ham avoid the drop.

What Crysencio Summerville really thinks of West Ham duo Taty and Pablo

Summerville spoke to reporters after he played a crucial role in the Hammers progressing through to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

And when asked about the 2-1 victory after extra-time, the former Leeds star shared his honest first opinion of West Ham’s new strikers.

“It’s a really good feeling,“ Summerville said.

“To get the win here today, I think it boosts our confidence and momentum, so I’m very pleased.

“I’m always trying to work on my end product in training. I’ve been waiting for the goal and an assist, to make an impact in the final third, and today was my day.

“[For Taty’s goal], when I got to the byline, I just got the chip in, and he was there and he was strong. He and Pablo are both strong, and it’s great to know that if you can get the ball in they can score goals.”

Summerville is clearly a big fan of both forwards, but now the onus is very much on them to perform.

Could Taty and Pablo really save West Ham from relegation?

West Ham obviously need Taty and Pablo to hit the ground running if they are to have any chance whatsoever of avoiding the drop.

The Hammers have some crucial, and it must be said very difficult, games coming up.

Nuno’s men face trips to Tottenham, Chelsea and Burnley, and home games against Sunderland, Manchester United and Bournemouth in their next six Premier League matches.

West Ham simply have to be targeting a minimum haul of 10 points from those games and hope that Nottingham Forest don’t pick up too many points along the way.

Taty and Pablo need to start scoring goals consistently for West Ham, while Summerville needs to show his best form more regularly.

Then, who knows, perhaps the Hammers will have enough to retain their Premier League status this season.
