Danny Rohl promised Rangers would be on the front foot in the January transfer window.
And the Ibrox club certainly seem to be attacking it early on with real aggression.
The summer recruitment shambles is clearly something Andrew Cavenagh and the club’s new owners want to make amends for as they look to strengthen for their Premiership title tilt.
Rohl has hauled the Light Blues back into contention as they continued their winning streak with victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday.
On paper, January was always going to be a huge month but it’s off the park as well as on it and it’s not just on the playing side that Rangers are busy with a key off-field figure also set to be appointed. Here, Record Sport rounds up the latest on their transfer ambitions.
Andreas Skov Olsen
This would be the big one and it has sent the fans into a frenzy. The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Ibrox on numerous occasions but could this finally be the time?
Rangers transfer sleuths spotted that he had liked a social media post announcing fellow Dane and former FC Nordsjælland team-mate Tochi Chukwuani’s move to the Light Blues and are now hoping he follows.
Olsen has moved for relatively big money in his career and combined transfer fees in excess of £20million, with his most recent the biggest of all – a £12m move to German side Wolfsburg 12 months ago.

But the winger has only featured 23 times for the Bundesliga side, netting three goals in those appearances, and is looking to kickstart his career with a loan move.
Olsen, under contract until 2029, wasn’t involved at all as his team were hammered 8-1 by Bayern Munich and Record Sport understands he is keen on a temporary switch to Glasgow.
Tuur Rommens
One player who, barring any last minute hitches, will soon be paraded at Ibrox is Belgium Under-21 international captain Rommens. Record Sport revealed on Sunday the player has agreed terms on a three-and-a half-year deal and has undergone his medical with an announcement now imminent. The Light Blues will pay his club side Westerlo an initial £2.6million – with another £500,000 due in performance-related add-ons.
Parfait Guiagon
The Ivorian midfielder has one year left on his contract at Charleroi but the Belgian side have the option of extending it by a year and the club reportedly don’t want to sell the African in this window unless they get a bumper offer for a player valued at around £3.5m.

And in another twist, ex Ibrox boss Philippe Clement, with his knowledge of the Jupiler Pro League, is also said to be an admirer and keen to take him to Norwich City.
Dan Neil
The combative midfielder is a man the Ibrox side want on loan to replace the injured Connor Barron with the ex Aberdeen man ruled out for up to three months. Black Cats fans noted how the 24-year-old was distant during celebrations at the weekend after their FA Cup win over Everton. He has featured just four times this season and looks set for a loan move to Rangers.
Romaine Mundle
The second of the two Sunderland players Rangers are keen on, although it’s unclear if the move for Andreas Skov Olsen could supersede or supplement that. Mundle is right-footed but is also strong on his left. Throw in the fact there are persistent reports that Djeidi Gassama, off the boil since a bright start to his Rangers career, could be on the move in this window with Villarreal and Club Brugge both linked.
Jim Gillespie
Okay, he’s not going to be pulling the boots on and thrust into the middle of the park byRohl. But it’s still a key recruit for Rangers. The St Mirren vice chairman is set to be confirmed as the club’s new CEO, a position he previously rejected. A dyed-in-the-wool Rangers fan, Gillespie is CEO of Renfrewshire charity Kibble and is leaving his role as Buddies vice-chairman to join the Ibrox side.
