A man has died on the A4174 ring road near Bristol this evening (Wednesday, January 14).
The ambulance service and Avon and Somerset Police were called to the A4174, between Wraxall Road and Marsham Way in Longwell Green, just after 5.20pm.
Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision with a car.
Formal identification has yet to take place, but his next of kin have been informed and will be supported, police said.
Emergency services remain at the scene as the road is still closed in both directions.
Police have urged drivers to allow extra time for their journey and seek alternative routes if possible.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of that section of the ring road between 4.45pm and 5.20pm.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Emergency services are at the scene of a serious injury collision which has closed the A4174 between its junctions with Wraxall Road and Marsham Way, in Longwell Green.
“Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene just after at 5.20pm on Wednesday, January 14.
“Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision with a car.
“While formal identification has yet to take place, next of kin have been informed, and will be supported.
“Drivers are urged to allow extra time for their journey and to seek alternative routes if possible.
“Officers are keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of that stretch of road between 4.45pm and 5.20pm.
