A steamy Facebook status from a Bootle takeaway left hundreds of customers in stitches. Foodahoolic, which is located on Stanley Road, took to social media after last week’s heatwave with a message for customers across the city.

The Chinese restaurant prides itself on delivering “fresh food that is full of authentic fine ingredients”. On the menu, you will find everything from salt and pepper squid and roast pork with mushrooms in black bean sauce to roast duck curry and yung chow fried rice.

Alongside this, there are a handful of sides such as soft noodles, chips, mixed vegetables, and beansprouts and onions. However, the team behind Foodahoolic suggested in a recent social media post that orders had been slower than usual due to the extremely hot temperatures Liverpool recently enjoyed.

Taking to Facebook, the takeaway wrote: “The heat is gone, finally you guys can have sex tonight. Don’t forget to order Chinese too. No one having Chinese last week, I almost go bankrupt.”

The post was accompanied by a series of emojis with sexual connotations. The post was shared repeatedly by customers and received a number of reactions from fans who found the funny side.

This isn’t the first time Foodaholic has jokingly called out customers on Facebook. At the start of this month, a review from a woman named Katie said: “The food was really enjoyable and delivery was quick.”

Despite the praise, Katie only gave two-and-a-half stars. To this, Foodaholic posted a photo of the review and said: “Could you please let me know what else I can do better to get five stars? Thank you, from someone who can’t sleep without an answer.”

The venue’s steamy Facebook status came after the Met Office forecast a warmer and sunnier day in Liverpool, following a recent spell of rain. Tuesday, July 15, saw “heavy and persistent rain” for most of the day following a weekend of glorious sunshine and heat.

Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6, were the hottest days of the recent heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 30C on both days. It appears to be good news for today, Wednesday, July 16, as the Met Office predicts it will be a “widely dry and fine day”.

This morning saw some cloud; however, from around 2pm, there will be sunshine. Temperatures are set to reach highs of 21C and lows of 16C. The Met Office said on its website: “A widely dry and fine day with cloud thinning and breaking up through the morning, leaving sunny spells for many.

“Isolated showers may develop at times, primarily over higher ground. Feeling warm in the sunshine with light winds.”

According to the forecast, tonight will see some spells of late evening sunshine before cloud arrives from the west, bringing outbreaks of heavy rain at times. It will remain breezy along exposed coastlines, although winds will be lighter inland.
