Love Island star Katie Salmon updated her fans as she carried out community service. The former contestant, 30, who appeared on the hit ITV2 dating show in 2016, received a court order after being found guilty of assault on a person in July last year.

Dressed in a high-vis jacket, she took to social media on Friday as she carried out the second day of her service and shared a selfie where she grinned towards the camera, as she joked about the viral trend that sees users on platforms like Instagram to reflect on where they are now in life compared to a decade ago.

Having since found God, she wrote: “Erm community service day 2. Smiling through the pain. Probably shouldn’t document this but keeping it real. Now I know why the Bible says if someone slaps the cheek give them other. Especially when the 2016-2026 is going off. My 10 year recap is and will be a book let me tell you.”

In a second post, she shared a picture of herself on Love Island and quipped: “Very humbling.”

In July last year, Katie was found guilty of attacking her boyfriend’s second girlfriend on a street in Kettering, Northampton, with a hairdryer and a stiletto shoe. The influencer, who is a born-again Christian and an OnlyFans star, avoided jail time and was given a suspended prison sentence.

In a video posted to social media in September, she said: “I have been wanting to come online and do this video for a while now and I’ve kind of just let a lot of people say a lot about me and write a lot about me and I just needed to just take some time off social media and I did. I haven’t been on it for over a couple of months now.

“I felt like today was the right time to do this video so that I can finally move on with my life and share the things that are really important to me and the causes that are really important to me.

“There’s been many decisions that have led me to this point over the years and there was a scenario that happened over two years ago which maybe some people know about and maybe some people don’t.”

Struggling to get the words out as she was on the verge of tears, she added: “Unfortunately I’m not able to speak on that right now due to legal reasons and it breaks my heart that I’m labelled as something that I’m not or never have been.

During her heyday on Love Island, Katie made history as part of the first all-girl couple with the late Sophie Gradon and eventually came fourth with co-star Adam Maxted.

“But with that being said I feel as though if I was to come on here and try and throw blame at anyone or try and say anything other than what I’m about to say would mean that I haven’t learned anything in my walk in the past two years with Christ and I have and there’s a lot more to the story than what people even know.

“Maybe I’ll never even get to share that but that’s not important. What is important is what I learned from it and how I found God through it. I’m sorry that I haven’t been online and I haven’t been sharing my journey in faith or all the things that I was doing and sharing my new life.

“But it’s because my past caught up with me and I’ve had to learn to take accountability and face the repercussions and I had to say goodbye to my little girl not knowing if I was gonna see her again or how long it was gonna be until I seen her again and that was the hardest thing that I’ve ever had to do.

“Even if you want to judge me by them things and you’d want to unfollow me or you don’t want to be a part of my journey anymore or support then that’s absolutely fine. You are entitled to do that but if you know me, if you can feel my spirit. If you can feel my heart and who I really am then I’m asking you now to support me because this time in my life I could do with support. Because anybody that knows me, anybody that’s ever met me knows who I really am.”

Finishing her emotional video with a warning to the haters, she added: “So if you were praying for my downfall I want you to know that this isn’t the end of me. this is only the beginning. Jesus is restoring what was stolen from me, he is healing what has been broken in me and I’m going to use that as fire in my spirit to make sure that I can make a change starting with me.
