A car enthusiast with a passion for fashion has had his second go at finding love on a dating show. Cormac Boylan, from Melton, appeared on Channel 4’s First Dates last summer.

The 25-year-old made a good connection with a 58-year-old Lincoln woman called Lorraine, but after the cameras switched off, he decided they weren’t meant to be.He said no to a second date with Lorraine.

But undaunted, Cormac said yes to a second go after Channel 4 asked him to appear on Honestly, a new show that airs on YouTube.

He can be seen on the online show now, dressed in his trademark look – a Versace shirt, a purple velvet jacket, a fur coat, and a felt hat.

Cormac, who works as a motoring journalist and first appeared on Leicestershire Live when he was 20 after buying his first Rolls-Royce, said his turn on Honestly was a memorable experience.

He said: “After coming off First Dates, I was invited up to Manchester to film another dating show for Channel 4 — this time with a twist.

“Honestly isn’t your typical dating show like First Dates. Instead, it’s a dating format built around a series of interactive games, split into different segments throughout the episode.

“The first game we played was essentially human chess. Five boys competed for one girl, all standing on what was effectively a giant chessboard, while the girl stood with her back to us.

“We began in a line at the starting point, and the girl asked each of us questions one by one. If she liked your answer, you moved forward. If she didn’t, you moved back.

“The first person to step off the board at the bottom was eliminated, while the first to reach the top won a date with the girl.”

He managed to get through that round, which meant he got to play the second game. He said: “The second game was called Clock Block, where we competed for a date with a different girl.

“Each of us stood behind a podium with a countdown clock and whoever’s clock ran out last won the date. We were asked a variety of questions, and if the girl liked your answer, she would come over and pause your clock.

“If she didn’t, the clock kept running — and once it hit zero, you were eliminated.”

He said the biggest challenge for him was when the girl asked him to show off his dance moves. He said: “Unfortunately, dancing is not my strong point.”

He said he had an “amazing time” on the show. You can stream Cormac’s episode of Honestly on YouTube now.
