According to Evan Blass, Motorola will head in a different direction from the Edge 70, which aimed to be the slimmest smartphone possible. While Blass has not shared dimensions yet, he asserts that the Edge 70 Fusion will line up with a 7,000 mAh battery, which would be too much for a circa 6 mm housing even with silicon-carbon battery technology. However, the Edge 70 Fusion is said to drop to the older Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which Motorola will complement with 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
Also, Blass expects Motorola to equip its next mid-range smartphone with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that outputs at 1.5K, 144 Hz and up to 5,200 nits while being protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Moreover, the Edge 70 Fusion is said to feature 50 MP primary and 32 MP selfie cameras, all within a quad-curved design with ‘nylon and linen-inspired’ back panels. A release date remains unknown for now, although Blass also reports that Motorola will limit the Edge 70 Fusion to just 3 OS upgrades.
