There was a chilling cliffhanger on Hollyoaks tonight, with Lucas Hay issuing a deadly warning to his father, Ste. With the pair’s relationship becoming more fractured by the day, what does the future hold?
Over the past few months, the soap introduced a child-to-parent abuse storyline, which has seen Lucas inflicting violence upon his father. It seemed like they worked things through at Christmas, but the plot thickened.
Ste had previously slept with Dillon Ray, Lucas’s on-off boyfriend over the same period. He attempted to keep this hidden, but Lucas eventually discovered the truth, and has plotted his father’s downfall as well as enacting revenge on Dillon.

Tonight’s episode began with Lucas waking after receiving a pep talk from Rex Gallagher, with the teenager having spent the night in the garage. Despite Rex urging him to work on his issues, Lucas said he was “done talking”.

He apologised to Dillon, and attempted to win his favour by reminiscing about the early stages of their relationship. Dillon wasn’t having any of it, however, and said that he felt “sick” while wishing that he never met Lucas.

A panicked Ste promptly asked what Lucas was doing there, with the teenager’s frenzied state being apparent when he was spooked by the ring of the phone. As he told him not to answer, Lucas made an ominous threat of a “farewell chat” to his father…
