Viewers of EastEnders are questioning newcomer Bea’s real intentions towards Honey Mitchell.

A new theory suggests the character could be targeting Honey in a sinister new storyline, with fans confused by her behaviour. With Bea baffling residents with some of the stuff she’s said and done, she’s recently tried to befriend Honey after their first meeting.

She seemed keen to develop their friendship, leading to awkward scenes with Nicola Mitchell. Amid her mishaps in Walford, fans are wondering if there is more to her sudden interest in Honey.

Fans wondered if the soap was heading down a Single White Female style plot, similar to the thriller film from the 90s. In the film, the lead character advertises for a new roommate, and as the pair grow closer things take a frightening turn.

Hedra, the roommate, begins to form a dangerous obsession with Allie, the lead. Fans are wondering if a similar plot is at play on the BBC soap, and if Bea will grow obsessed with Honey.

Other fans were sure there was something “sinister” going on with Bea, while another suggestion was that Bea and Honey could be secretly related. One fan shared: “The concept of Bea pulling a Single White Female on Honey.”

Another fan said: “There’s something so sinister about Bea and I can’t put my finger on it.” A third fan posted: “Bea single white female of the square.”

A fourth viewer commented: “Bea is giving Single White Female vibes,” as another said: “There’s something very sinister about this woman.” A further post read: “I’ll bet all my money on her being the next psycho.”

As for the DNA theory, fans wondered if Bea and Honey could be sisters. A viewer said: “I need Bea to secretly be related to Honey and I don’t even know why,” as another wrote: “Honey and Bea could be sisters.”

Another fan said: “Wouldn’t it be something if Bea and Honey did turn out to be sisters, especially with the names in this order? Honey Bea!”

One fan added: “Why is Bea a carbon copy of Honey? This is clearly deliberate. I’m so confused.” Meanwhile, one viewer was torn over both theories.

They said: “I can’t help but think there’s something weird going on like she seems really funny, but is it gonna be something sinister? She seems to be attached to Honey so maybe she gets obsessed with her, or maybe they end up being related to each other or something.”
