A popular parking app is not working, causing rush-hour chaos for motorists across the country.
RingGo, which allows drivers to pay for parking via an app on their smartphones along with the web, appears to have gone down. Downdetector has confirmed an issue, stating that “user reports show problems”.
Dozens of people have taken to X to express their frustration over the apparent outage. One user wrote: “Just spent 30 min train journey trying to pay for my parking. App won’t work, can’t login can’t reset can’t register – deleted and reinstalled – still nothing! I better not get a ticket!”

Another user said: “@RingGo_parking Your app is not working. I have no other means of paying for parking. Will I now get a fine?”
“@RingGo_parking sort out your service,” a third added. “The app isn’t working, when you ring the phone number it says it’s unavailable and the website login gives a 504 gateway time-out. How many people [are] already getting massive parking fines today as a result of this!”
One motorist reported on RingGo’s online live chat that they had spent 20 minutes trying to access the service to pay for their parking charges.
A RingGo operator replied: “Apologies, we are experiencing intermittent issues at the moment but we are working as quickly as possible to resolve this. Thank you for your continued patience. We are working as quickly as possible to resolve this.”
George Chamberlain, Communications Manager for RingGo UK and Ireland, said: “We are currently experiencing a disturbance to our internal systems which is affecting the RingGo service. Restoring normal service is our highest priority and we are investigating the situation.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause our customers. We have informed operators of the issue and asked them to suspend parking enforcement until the issue is resolved. Where available, Pay and Display machines remain operational. We will continue to share updates with our users, for more information please visit the ringGo.co.uk website.”
RingGo says its mobile parking service is available in 17,000 locations in 500 towns and cities across the UK. It is owned by Sweden-based parking technology company Arrive, formerly known as EasyPark.
