Host Maya Jama admitted it was the first time she had seen someone dump their couple

The opening exits of the new Love Island All Stars series have been dubbed legendary after one Islander brutally axed their former flame in a shocking double elimination.

The drama unfolded as presenter Maya Jama made her surprise arrival at the villa, gathering all contestants together for what would prove to be explosive scenes.

Unbeknownst to the Islanders, viewers had been casting their votes for their preferred male and female contestants since the start of the week, reports OK!

Yesterday’s episode saw Maya enter the villa ahead of revealing the results, with fans witnessing the chaotic moments play out tonight (January 22).

Before delivering the crucial news, Maya addressed the recent arrivals, saying: “Konnor, Samie, AJ, welcome back. You’ve been busy, I feel like I blink and everything switches in here.”

After Samie confirmed she had “definitely made the right decision”, Maya questioned AJ about her choice, asking: “AJ, you obviously chose to couple up with Shaq. Are you happy with that decision?”

AJ responded: “Tonight we took a little bit of a back step…we’ve gone into more deep stuff and I think he wants more light hearted fun and I respect that. And I guess he wants to do less cuddling and be less physical..”

Refocusing on her unexpected visit, Maya announced: “Well, Islanders, I am here with news. The public have been voting for their favourite boy and favourite girl.”

Maya then declared Millie as the favourite girl and Scott as the favourite boy, a revelation that was met with mixed reactions from the others. Maya went on to say: “That was the good news and now for the not so good news. I will now reveal the three girls and three boys with the fewest votes.”

The bottom three girls were Jess, Whitney and AJ, while Sean, Konnor, and Charlie found themselves as the least popular boys. All six were asked to stand in front of the firepit.

In a shocking twist, Maya announced that the fate of these contestants wouldn’t be decided by the public.

Instead, the power lay with Millie and Scott, the favourites. Millie had the responsibility of choosing which boy would leave, while Scott had to pick the first girl to exit.

Scott wrestled with his decision, admitting there were ‘two ways he could look at it’. After some prodding from Maya, he finally chose AJ.

Millie, after some contemplation, decided to send Charlie packing. This came just days after Charlie had recoupled with Millie despite sharing a kiss with Jess.

Viewers at home were quick to react to the dramatic turn of events. One fan exclaimed on social media: “The scream I just SCRUMPT! Millie just did her big one for real. I’m proud of her.”

Another chimed in: “Millie sending Charlie packing is iconic…” A third viewer shared: “I just reacted like how my parents watch football I get it now.”

One person pondered: “Charlie definitely thought he was safe. What’s Millie and Jess gonna do now?”

Love Island All Stars continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
