Furious Bologna Lewis Ferguson couldn’t wait for the dressing room to vent his frustration after the draw with Celtic.

The 10-man Hoops took a massive step towards the Europa League knockout stage with a battling draw with the Serie A side. Bologna fought back from 2-0 down against a Martin O’Neill’s side – who were clinging on to head clinging onto 24th and the last play-off spot before kick off in Italy – to secure a point.

But the Italians saw their chance at a top eight finish drift further away as Thijs Dallinga’s header and Jonathan Rowe’s strike saw them settle for the draw despite a second half onslaught – after Reo Hatate saw red in the first half. Ferguson – who captained the side – continued his unwanted record against the Hoops.

Ferguson – who was born and bred in a Rangers family – has faced Celtic 16 times across spells with Hamilton Accies and Aberdeen without a single win to his name. Going into the game And going into the game he admitted his winless run made grim reading, but Ferguson insisted it’s never been something that’s weighed on his mind.

That was, until before the game came around. And it appeared that his anger over the result reached boiling point on field after the game.

Having been substituted with his side chasing a winner for Riccardo Orsolini, Ferguson was part of the post match walk to applaud the home crowd. However, he would be involved in an exchange of words with teammate Thijs Dallinga.

The Scotland international could be seen turning to his teammate and gesturing. Dallinga attempted to whisper to his skipper, but Ferguson would continue to make his point on the pitch.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Ferguson said: “We gave away some sloppy goals and shot ourselves in the foot.

“We have caused ourselves our own problems tonight. I can accept the first one, it’s a mistake, but the second one when they go down to 10 men, to concede from a corner is unacceptable for me.
