They may be inseparable on the screen, but Ant and Dec have revealed that they have drifted further apart in recent years. The situation isn’t as bad as it sounds, however, with the duo just following the various paths of life!

The pair have been a fixture on British TV since making their debuts in Byker Grove in 1989, going on to present shows such as I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway.

Earlier this month, the beloved duo announced their latest venture, Hanging Out With Ant & Dec, a podcast series which will see the pair “catching up, reminiscing and seeing where the conversation takes them”.

In the press release, Dec alluded to the fact that they had decided to start the podcast as the pair had seen less of each other outside of work in recent years, and he elaborated on the matter.

“We’re now dads to very small children,” he told The Mirror. “The little ones especially take up a lot of time, effort and energy. I love them dearly, but we [Ant and I] don’t hang out as much as we used to.

“Ant’s moved house now – geographically we’re further away from each other than we’ve ever been. We don’t get the chance to hang out as much and talk rubbish anymore so we decided to come up with the idea of doing a podcast to sit together.”

Hanging Out With Ant & Dec was announced at the same time as Belta Box, a brand-new digital entertainment channel that will be home to some of the duo’s most famous moments across their career.

“We’ve spent our whole careers celebrating great entertainment, so launching Belta Box feels like the natural next step,” said Ant. “Alongside our new podcast, we’re excited to create a space packed with fun, feel-good content that brings people together.”

“What better way to launch Belta Box than with our first-ever podcast series!” added Dec. “We asked our audience if we did a podcast, what would they like it to be about, and they said we just want you guys to hang out. So that’s what we’re doing!”

Hanging Out With Ant & Dec is streaming now.
