A swingers club has a ‘sex cinema’, dungeon room and disco room among its more than 40 rooms, with plans to add several more rooms in the future.
Tucked away on a Derby industrial estate, the Attic Experience even boasts a Harry Potter-themed space. Situated in Ascot Drive, the venue is owned by Ron Rothwell, and has been operating since 2004 with around 20,000 visitors at the current location.
The business was forced to move out of its 20-year home on a business park off Osmaston Road a few years ago. Some of the rooms have full and half-doors and mirrors, allowing people to watch, if permission is granted, reports DerbyshireLive.

It also has dungeon rooms, a “silhouette room”, a school room, a disco room and even a Harry Potter-themed space. Mr Rothwell said its Ascot Drive venue had seen around 20,000 visitors enter through the doors from all parts of the country, and even some from abroad.
Its sex cinema is said to be the most popular part of the club, which has a capacity for 40 people at any one time. There is, however, a licensing meeting set to be held this week after an objection to its application for the cinema was made to the authority.
Councillors must now decide on whether or not a licence can be granted for the cinema at its Ascot Drive home. Mr Rothwell, who has owned the club for more than 20 years, said if the council refuses then The Attic likely faces closure. He said that without the cinema, which shows adult films, interest in the club could fade away.
Mr Rothwell said closing the club would be “devastating” and said its Ascot Drive home has been a big success.

He said: “I love this place. I don’t do it for the money – I do it for the people. They love it here. We’ve been going for 22 years.
“It is one of the best clubs in the country. I would be devastated if we closed. I’ve put my heart and soul into it. There’s never been any trouble here.”
Mr Rothwell told Derbyshire Live in 2019 that the Attic gives his customers somewhere to “meet other people and live out fantasies”.
He added: “The service we offer is somewhere safe and friendly where people can come and do their own thing. It’s a safe and clean environment at all times.”

He also explained that the Attic was all about fostering a friendly and inclusive environment, taking particular care to make sure that gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans people feel welcome.
He says: “We have them all! We do have a big transvestite community because it’s safe here and sort of out of the way. They have plenty of room to do whatever they want.”
