Buffy the Vampire Slayer star David Boreanaz’s action-packed military drama series Seal Team has landed a new streaming home on Channel 4. The Paramount+ show, which debuted in 2017 follows an elite unit of Navy SEALs as they embark on extremely dangerous, high-stakes missions.
Boreanaz stars as Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes who heads the team as the synopsis reads: “Failure isn’t an option for the new Navy SEALs, and that kind of pressure can take a toll on the members of the special operations forces’ most elite unit.
“This team…trains, plans and executes some of the most dangerous, high-stakes missions and deploys for clandestine missions around the globe at a moment’s notice.
“While serving their country is a worthy and rewarding cause, it can put a strain on the SEALs and their families, causing the guys to look out for one another in the face of seemingly overwhelming odds, both on and off the job.”
The series that had fans so hooked they couldn’t stop watching, originally aired on CBS for the first five seasons and ran for seven seasons in total before being cancelled in 2024. Plans for a follow-up movie also ground to a halt, (via Forbes).

In a statement about its cancellation, executive producers Spencer Hudnut and Christopher Chulack said: “It has been a privilege to tell stories over seven seasons that honour the bravery and heroism of all who serve our country.
“We are deeply grateful to our amazing group of actors, writers, directors and talented crew, especially the hundreds of veterans who have worked on this show.”
The close of the show coincided with Boreanaz’s decision to step down from the series in its seventh season for health reasons.

Ahead of its debut the Jason actor told People: “My body just can’t do it anymore!
“I take good care of myself, but it gets to a point where your body’s not moving like it used to… I think I’ve had four MRIs in the past four months, for my knees, hips, shoulders. It’s been quite a journey.”
Boreanaz rose to fame on the iconic 90s supernatural series as Angel, the brooding vampire boyfriend to lead star Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Buffy.
The actor left the show after three seasons and went on to star in his own spin-off series Angel, before going on to lead in the successful, long-running crime drama Bones.
The first four season of Seal Team are available to stream now on Channel 4.
