A man is understood to have died following a serious crash in Coalisland, as emergency services remain at the scene.
The Belfast Telegraph understands a vehicle collided with the front of a Spar shop in the Moor Road area.
SDLP representative Malachy Quinn said that his “heart is breaking” for the loved ones of the man, who he described as “elderly”.
“A car has went through a shop wall and a local gentleman unfortunately has died. He was an elderly local man. It happened at around 12.30pm today on near a local spar,” he said.
“My heart is breaking for the family and loved ones to be perfectly honest. The entire community is in shock. It is a tragic accident of the highest order.”
The Air Ambulance, paramedics, PSNI and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service are all at the scene.
Three fire appliances are at the scene.
The road has been closed in both directions.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Moor Road, Coalisland, is closed to road users between Washingbay Road and Gortgonis Road, following a collision.
“Please seek an alternative route for your journey.”
