It’s understood the free-scoring Hansa Rostock striker would jump at the chance for a move to the Premiership title chasers

Hansa Rostock’s Ryan Naderi

Impressed Barry Ferguson reckons Rangers target Ryan Naderi is the real deal after swotting up on the man identified to fire the Ibrox side to title glory.

It’s understood the free-scoring Hansa Rostock striker would jump at the chance for a move to the Premiership side after turning heads in the third tier of German football.

Rostock are reluctant to sell Naderi as they push for promotion but the £2.6million-rated forward is attracting admiring glances from across the continent.

And Ferguson admits he’s done some digging on the 22-year-old forward and has faith in Danny Rohl if they pull the trigger on the rising star.

Speaking on Hotline LIVE, the Rangers icon said: “ I’ve done my research and he’s highly regarded. He’s German, and we all know where the manager is from.

“Rohl knows people in Germany, so if Rangers are willing to spend £2.6m, then I trust his judgement.

“It would be ideal for Rangers to get another forward in. They need to keep it fresh up top, and it would ease the workload off [Youssef] Chermiti and [Bojan] Miovski.”

But Rangers are set to be met with resistance as Rostock chief Amir Shapourzadeh admits they are keen to keep hold of their best player.

Shapourzadeh told Ostsee Zeitung: “No one is unsellable in football, but we want to get the maximum sporting result from the season. And we don’t want to jeopardise our goals.”

Asked how the player feels about the club’s stance, he added: “Ryan handles it very professionally. He’s very mature for his age – an intelligent young man who thinks things through a lot and with whom you can have good conversations.”
