My 600-lb Life star Charity Pierce has died at the age of 50. The reality star’s heartbroken daughter, Charly Jo, confirmed the devastating news this week, taking to social media to lead tributes.
It was revealed that Charity had been in hospice care for a month or two while battling serious health issues, including lymphedema and fluid build-up in her lungs. In an emotional Facebook post, Charly announced that her mum had died surrounded by her loved ones, adding that she is now “finally at peace.”
She wrote: “My mom passed away today. She’s up there with her momma and brother and sister, and she’s finally at peace. Charity fly high, momma.”
Alongside a photo holding her mother’s hand, Charly added: “I hope you know how much I love you and how grateful I was to be able to be by your side while you took your last breath,” reports the Express.

Charity gained recognition and won the hearts of TLC viewers in season three of My 600-lb Life, where she sought help with severe obesity after struggling with food addiction, health complications and emotional trauma.
At her heaviest, she weighed nearly 800 pounds before seeking professional help, but achieved significant progress in her journey with substantial weight loss and skin removal surgery. However, Charity also experienced setbacks with infections and continued to face ongoing health challenges, which she disclosed during an episode of My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now?
According to a source via TMZ, Charity had been receiving hospice care due to ongoing medical issues with lymphedema and fluid accumulation in her lungs, which reportedly played a part in her tragic death.
In recent years, the reality star disclosed other health problems she was dealing with and announced a kidney cancer diagnosis that necessitated surgery. She also pledged to lose enough weight to visit her mother, who was battling brain cancer.

Sadly, her mother passed away before Charity was well enough to travel, and as she was recuperating from her own gastric bypass operation, she couldn’t attend the funeral.
In a 2020 Facebook post, Charity updated her followers: “To update everyone.. I found out at Christmas time that I have kidney cancer. It devastated me bc my mom passed away from brain cancer.
“So, since Christmas, I’ve had high anxiety and lots of panic attacks. After lots of testing and a million doctor appointments, they figured out the cancer was only in my kidney.
“The next step was to get my kidney removed as soon as possible before it had a chance to spread to other organs in my body. So on March 2, my kidney was removed. And now I’m recovering at home, trying to heal. I just hope the future has something good in store.”
No official cause of death has been released yet.
