Mel C dismisses talk about Beckham family feud
Mel C chatted to Amanda Holden on her Heart Breakfast show today when the subject of her former bandmate Victoria Beckham‘s ongoing feud with her son Brooklyn was brought up. Amanda started the exchange by asking about a Spice Girls reunion and then said: “‘I’m not going to talk to you about anything else. I’ve actually banned talking about the Beckhams on this show because I’m heartbroken for them. So, we won’t be talking about that.”
Mel, who had been all smiles until that point, then shook her head and frowned. She responded: “Yeah we won’t be talking about that.” Mel’s former bandmate, Victoria (AKA Posh Spice), has been embroiled in a feud with Brooklyn Beckham for months. The feud hit boiling point this January, when Brooklyn posted a scathing statement to his Instagram, in which he accused his mother of being “controlling” and dancing “inappropriately on” him at his wedding.

Victoria has remained silent on the situation, though a source told the Mirror that she was “on the floor in bits” when she heard about what Brooklyn had written.
After Mel shut down, Amanda quickly moved the conversation back to a potential reunion, to which Mel said she was keeping her fingers crossed. “If you remember looking back to 2019 when we did our stadium tour, Victoria wasn’t with us,” Mel said.
“So, she has to have that experience. Do you know what, it’s so lovely. I’m sure a lot of your listeners out there saw the picture from last weekend. We were celebrating Emma’s birthday. We missed Melanie B she wasn’t there sadly. But the four of us the rest of us were there and it was so lovely.

“And you know what it’s like, it was a big birthday. So, you feel very nostalgic. So, we’re probably closer now than we have been in a very long time and I’m always keeping my fingers crossed.”
Mel and Victoria found fame as part of the 1990s girlband Spice Girls, which also featured Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown (AKA Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Gerri Halliwell-Horner (Ginger Spice). They had hits such as Wannabe, Say You’ll Be There and 2 Become 1.
Sporty Spice has previously said that she is hoping for a 30th anniversary reunion and shared that she, Baby and Scary have all been in talks to celebrate the milestone. But, she has also admitted to being “frightened” by the pressure to get the anniversary right.

Victoria, Mel C, Gerri and Emma all reunited to Baby’s 50th birthday last week. The four banded together for a small party to celebrate the huge birthday and reportedly danced into the early hours on the morning.
The gathering was held at Soho Farmhouse on 24 January. It was also attended by All Saints’ Nicole Appleton and TV star Holly Willoughby. David Beckham commented his happiness at seeing pics of his wife back with her friends: “This made me happy. I can only imagine how the spice girls fans feel.” He then tagged the band, his wife and Emma, before adding: “Special night celebrating Emma.”
