Hull FC winger Lewis Martin has signed a new FIVE-year contract with the Black and Whites. The deal replaces his existing contract, which ran to the end of the 2028 season, and now ties the player up until the end of the 2030 season.
Breaking onto the scene two years ago, Martin – who would have been free to speak to rival clubs from December without a new deal – has gone from strength to strength in the Hull first-team, having graduated from the club’s academy. He has scored 42 tries in 56 appearances, and was the top try scorer in Super League last season.
The 21-year-old also made the Super League Dream Team and was nominated for Super League’s Young Player of the Year after an outstanding season that saw him make the most carries in the competition and the eighth most metres.
Martin picked up where he left off in 2025 at Wigan on Sunday afternoon, scoring three tries in a pre-season friendly, with the player the first key piece of retention for the new year – and one CEO Richie Myler is delighted to get over the line.
“This is a really important signing for us,” Myler said. “Lewis has come through our system; he understands what this club means to the city and the fans.
“We want a group that people recognise and feel connected to, players who wear the shirt with pride and give everything to Hull FC. Securing Lewis for the next five years is exactly the kind of decision that helps you build something properly and sustainably.
“And with the spotlight increasing on Hull and the role this city plays in our sport, it feels right that one of our own is committing his future here. This place has always been the heartbeat – the capital of rugby league – and players like Lewis represent that better than anyone.”
Speaking on his new deal, Martin added: “Hull is home. I’ve grown up here and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The fans have always backed me and I’m proud to keep representing them.
“The next five years give me a further chance to give something back to the club that gave me an opportunity in the sport.”
