Memory of a Killer, the “dramatic” thriller starring Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli, has finally landed its release date in the UK. With an intriguing premise and a stacked cast, could this be a breakout hit in 2026?
The series, which is based on Jef Geeraerts’s novel De zaak Alzheimer (The Alzheimer Case), sees Grey’s Anatomy star Dempsey portray Angelo, a New York City resident who lives a “dangerous” double life.
As Angelo Flannery, he’s a “mild-mannered” photocopier salesman, but as Angelo Doyle he’s a “fearsome” hitman in The Big Apple. Amid all this, the figure is battling personal trouble as he begins to exhibit signs of memory loss.
Created by Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone, the thriller series premiered on Fox in the US last month (25 January), but UK audiences won’t have to wait much longer as it will premiere on these shores on Prime Video on Thursday (5 February).
The first two instalments will be released at the same time, while the remaining eight will drop on a weekly basis. Prime Video comes with an Amazon Prime subscription, which costs £8.99 per month after a 30-day free trial.

Imperioli, who has appeared in The Sopranos and The White Lotus, plays Angelo’s close friend Dutch Forlanni. Despite his “affable” demeanour, Dutch runs a ruthless criminal operation behind his restaurant, and supplies Angelo with his targets.
“To further complicate things, Angelo discovers that his wife’s recent death may not have been an accident,” teases the logline. “When someone comes after his pregnant daughter Maria it’s clear the wall between his lives has been breached.
“Angelo must stop whoever’s coming for his family by searching his past hits for clues, and the list is very long. Memory of a Killer is a redemptive story about a man who is losing his memory but gaining a conscience.”

In addition to the aforementioned stars, the cast for the series includes Richard Harmon, Odeya Rush, Peter Gadiot, Daniel David Stewart, while Michaela McManus and Gina Torres appear in recurring roles.
Geeraerts’s novel has been adapted previously, with The Alzheimer Case – a Belgian action-thriller film – being released in 2003. An American remake, titled Memory, was released in 2022 with Liam Neeson in the lead role.
Memory of a Killer premieres on Prime Video on 5 February.
