EastEnders spoilers follow.
It’s been a tumultuous time for Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin in EastEnders, and it looks set to continue. With the pair hoping to adopt a baby, Balvinder Sopal has teased what the future could hold for the couple.
After a storyline involving Suki’s pregnant step-granddaughter Avani Nandra-Hart, Suki and Eve decided they still wanted to become parents after almost separating.
Though they have managed to repair their bond, Sopal confirmed a long road ahead for the couple as they seek to adopt.
“That’s going to be a nice long arc,” she told RadioTimes. “We’re going to delve quite deep, hopefully, into both of their backgrounds and lives, and just see the effects of what it means and what it takes to actually go ahead and adopt.

“We want to be as truthful as we possibly can. It’s not easy. We know that. The team at EastEnders have done their background research, so you’re in for a treat. I think we will be seeing a lot of their pasts come to the forefront.”
“You want to know what sort of parents they’re going to be. I know everybody’s like, ‘Suki is a bad mum.’ She is! But it’s nice to delve into why,” added the actor, who has portrayed Suki since 2020.
While Suki and Eve will travel the long road to adoption, Suki will have more immediate matters to attend to following the arrival of Bea Pollard, who has proven to be a livewire in Walford after setting foot in Albert Square last month.

An old acquaintance of Linda Carter, Bea found a new friend in Honey Mitchell after landing a job at the Minute Mart, though she has shown a dark side after becoming disgruntled at how the Panesars have treated Honey.
After Suki spoke sternly to Honey, Bea suggested that they take legal action against her. Though Honey wasn’t too keen on the idea, she drunkenly drafted a vicious email with Bea, but her world collapsed after she accidentally sent it to Suki.
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
