The current flagship is nearly $100 off in both case sizes, making it a great pick for Android users
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 has returned to near its all-time low price, with Amazon slashing multiple editions of the flagship smartwatch to $289.99.
This $90 discount brings the watch within striking distance of its all-time low of $279, seen briefly in December, with an MSRP of $379.99.
For those who prefer a smaller profile, the 40mm edition has also been slashed to $259.99, representing a significant saving on the $349.99 launch price. At the time of writing, the savings apply to both graphite and silver cases in any size.
While the 44mm size offers the best screen real estate for data-heavy watch faces, both models benefit from the improved Exynos processor, which makes navigating the UI noticeably smoother than on the previous Watch 6 and 7 series.

Why we recommend the Galaxy Watch 8 at this price
In our full Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 review, we noted how much we preferred the new cushion case design to previous editions. In an industry that is often very iterative, this was a convincing makeover for the base edition, giving it a much-needed dose of personality.

The other major upgrade is on the software front, as it now runs the latest Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 and is among the few devices to feature the new Google Gemini assistant—a significant improvement over Google Assistant.
However, there are still a couple of caveats. To get the most out of this watch—including the ECG and Blood Pressure features—you still need to use a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
Plus, while the software is top-tier, the battery life remains the Achilles’ heel, with 24–30 hours being the realistic limit for most users.
Still, if you can live with the daily charging routine (particularly of the smaller model), this is currently the highest-performing Wear OS device you can buy for under $300. Well, at least until Amazon raises the price again.
