Chart-topping boyband JLS are the latest act to headline a new festival in Kent this summer.

The group will join the likes of Madness and Becky Hill to perform at Canterbury Live, an upcoming music weekender that is set to attract up to 40,000 people for three open-air concerts.

The group, who rose to fame on TV singing competition The X Factor in 2008 and reached the final alongside Alexandra Burke, achieved five No. 1 singles, including Beat Again and Everybody in Love, before their split in 2013.

Members Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Oritsé Williams and JB Gill – who now lives on an 11-acre farm in Sevenoaks – reunited in 2020 and announced a new UK arena tour.

They will be joined at their Canterbury gig by fellow boyband The Wanted 2.0, singer Pixie Lotte and BBC Radio One hosts Ricky and Melvin.

JLS will perform at the St Lawrence Ground on Friday, August 7.

The festival, originally launched as Canterbury Summertime Live, will also host Becky Hill on Saturday, August 8 and Madness on Sunday, August 9.
