Steve Borthwick’s side kicked off their campaign with a resounding 48-7 win over Wales but have now been hit by a new setback

Feyi-Waboso (centre) is set to miss the rest of the Six Nations

England have been hit by a big injury blow with wing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso set to miss the rest of the Six Nations through injury.

The 23-year-old Cardiff-born star was ruled out of his side’s 48-7 hammering of Wales at Twickenham on Saturday, missing out on facing the country of his birth after picking up a hamstring injury in training two days earlier. However, he now looks set to miss the entire rest of the campaign, according to a report from RugbyPass.

The report claims that sources in the England camp have suggested it is not good news for Feyi-Waboso, with head coach Steve Borthwick left with another big decision to make for the rest of the tournament.

The Exeter Chiefs star has won 13 international caps since opting to play for England over Wales ahead of the 2024 Six Nations and started all four autumn Tests for Borthwick’s side, scoring against both Fiji and Argentina over the course of the campaign.

He has also been in fine form at club level, with nine tries in 13 matches so far this season, including a hat-trick against Newcastle Red Bulls back in October.

However, it looks as though his Six Nations is over after being pulled out of training on Thursday, with England assistant Tom Harrison explaining at the time: “[Manny] pulled out of training in the last 60 seconds and unfortunately won’t be available this weekend.

“He sustained a pulled muscle in the leg area. Does it disrupt some plans? Yes, it does because it’s changing a player.

“But we’ve done everything we can to make sure the next player is ready.”

After Feyi-Waboso was ruled out, Borthwick brought in Sale Sharks star Tom Roebuck, who himself was making a return from injury.

He got on the scoresheet against Wales early in the second half as he played his first game for England since breaking his toe against New Zealand in the autumn.

However, Borthwick must now decide whether to stick with the Inverness-born star ahead of his side’s Calcutta Cup clash with Scotland this weekend, or bring in someone new.

The England boss may opt to recall Elliot Daly or move Tommy Freeman onto the wing, with the Northampton Saints back finishing Saturday’s match at Twickenham out wide.

He will be boosted by the return of Ollie Lawrence, with the Bath man set to come back from a knee injury in time for the Scotland match, where he could partner Fraser Dingwall in midfield.
