Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (9 February), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street reveals one of Jodie Ramsey‘s huge secrets tonight, as Shona Platt finally locates their estranged dad Doug. But the family reunion takes a dark turn when he issues an ominous warning about Jodie.
The episode begins at the Platt house, where Shona relays new information she’s gathered in the search for her dad. Having been misdirected by Jodie and their dad’s friend Bernard, Shona has been desperately looking for some fresh leads.
David points out her “intense” behaviour but Shona assures him she is still focused on baby Harper, before sharing her suspicions about her sister’s secretive actions.
When Jodie leaves the house all dressed up, Shona’s doubts grow and she decides to follow her to see who she’s meeting.

Later, Shona arrives at a psychiatric hospital to find Jodie sitting by their dad’s bedside. She confronts her sister over her lies, but Jodie manages to manipulate the situation again.
“It started when you left. And then he had a complete breakdown when mum walked out on him,” she says. “This is all part of my old life, isn’t it? I didn’t want to drag you back into it.”
Jodie explains that she struggled to look after Doug at home as he has “spells where he gets angry”. At first, Doug appears confused with a blank expression on his face, but he later recognises his daughters and warns Shona to stay away from Jodie.
“You can’t be here. It’s not right,” he frantically tells her. “Don’t believe her, she’s a liar. She lies. Keep away from her!”

As a nurse calms Doug down, Jodie insists he’s confused and doesn’t know what he’s saying. Fortunately for Jodie, Shona believes her and apologises for leaving her to look after him.
After Shona leaves, Jodie returns to her dad’s room with a warning of her own, reminding him: “You know what happens when we fall out. It doesn’t work out very well for you, does it?”
She says that her new life with the Platts could be her “happy ending” as she has “nothing to hide” from Shona anymore. She adds: “Don’t you see, dad? I don’t need you anymore. I’ve got them, they’re my family now. And I’m gonna get everything I want.”
