RideLondon, one of the world’s largest mass‑participation cycling events, has been placed on “indefinite pause” following operational and financial reviews of its future, event organiser London Marathon Events has said.
Launched in 2013 as part of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the event has seen 500,000 people take part and it has raised over ÂŁ85m for charity.
Organisers said that while the cycling festival will not return in its current form, its legacy continues through the riders it encouraged and the money raised for charity.
They added that future work will focus on widening access to cycling and supporting active travel in London and beyond.
