On the eve of the Super League season, Bradford Bulls have confirmed a season-long loan for one of their forwards.
The Bulls have had huge squad turnover heading into 2026 with Bradford earning their place in Super League via the IMG rankings, where they placed tenth.
Since then, they’ve set about a very busy recruitment cycle that has seen 16 players arrive and 17 depart, however, that number has now grown with Jamie Gill leaving the club on a season-long loan.
Many of those who have departed have done so to remain in the Championship with only a few exceptions, including retirement, a move down under, or a switch to rugby union.
The Bulls have now confirmed that Gill, 20, has left to join Championship side Dewsbury Rams for the 2026 season with the one-time Ireland international looking to increase his chances of regular game time, something that Bradford likely can’t offer given how many new forwards they have recruited.

Bradford Bulls loan out young forward
Gill is well thought of at Odsal with the forward contracted until the end of the 2027 season. He made his debut in September of last year, before playing in the pre-season clash against Leeds Rhinos last month.
That game in September was his sole competitive appearance for the Bulls, with most of Gill’s playing time coming out on loan in League One with Cornwall in 2024 and Newcastle and Dewsbury in 2025.
He played 13 games for the Rams in 2025 and he now returns to them for the 2026 season, with the familiar environment likely to be beneficial for his development.
Confirming his exit, Bradford took to social media stating: “Jamie Gill has joined @DewsburyRams on a season-long loan. The Bradford Bulls hold a recall option.
“A great opportunity for regular game time to develop further, go well Jamie!”
Gill could feature for Dewsbury this weekend when they travel to another of his former clubs, Newcastle, on Sunday.
