Netflix, BBC iPlayer and more have added a host of great movies over the past seven days – and we’re here to give you the lowdown on the ones that are worth your time, from a “perfect” crime thriller starring Tim Roth to a brilliant recent romantic drama.

Also among this week’s highlights are a classic Wes Anderson flick and a great action adventure starring Viola Davis – so there’s plenty to get stuck into.

Here, Digital Spy has rounded up five of the best, alongside more gems to look out for.

Best movie new to Netflix this week

The Grand Budapest Hotel: If you’re a fan of zany Wes Anderson flicks with impressive casts (that would be most of them, to be fair), then you can’t go better than this 2014 movie.

Led by Ralph Fiennes, The Grand Budapest Hotel follows eccentric hotel concierge Gustave H, who is framed for murder and goes on an adventure with his protégé for fortune and a Renaissance painting, all while the shadow of fascism grows in the fictional European country of Zubrowka.

Sitting at a near-perfect 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes, Loud and Clear Reviews praised the movie’s “bold visuals and dynamic storytelling”. Saoirse Ronan, Tony Revolori, Tilda Swinton and Adrien Brody also star.
