The Moses Itauma vs. Dillian Whyte showdown is less than two weeks away.

The two British heavyweights will collide in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday 16 August, with the winner moving one step closer towards a possible shot at world honours.

Itauma has quickly established himself as the most exciting prospect in the heavyweight division, compiling an undefeated record of 12-0, 10 of those wins coming by knockout, having stopped the likes of Demsey McKean and Mariusz Wach in quick fashion.

Last time out, Itauma claimed another rapid-fire win, claiming a second round TKO win over Mike Balogun in May, setting up the battle with Whyte for the 20-year-old.

At 37-years-old, Whyte is nearly double the age of Itauma, and heads into this month’s fight with a lot more experience than his rival. He previously challenged for the WBC heavyweight title in April 2022, but suffered a stoppage defeat to Tyson Fury.

Whyte does hold wins over fighters such as Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin and Derek Chisora in his career, but is viewed as the underdog in the upcoming match-up against Itauma.

One man who has previously sparred both men is former cruiserweight and bridgerweight world champion Lawrence Okolie, who is now campaigning at heavyweight himself.

Having felt what it feels like to stand opposite both fighters in the ring, Okolie told The Stomping Ground who he is expecting to win in style this month.

“Moses is on a great run, a good trajectory, so when they do fight, I think Moses will KO him in quick fashion, so yeah, good luck to him.”

Okolie isn’t the only big name to offer their take on the fight, with Tyson Fury also making his prediction.
