Proposals have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council seeking full planning permission for a change of use of Quench Café.
The closed business premises is located on Lodge Drive in Culcheth, having previously been used as a café and community hall.
Doors were shut for the final time in September, having served the community for 12 years and being staffed mainly by volunteers since it opened in 2013.
Now, applicant Benjamin Batrak is aiming to open a dental practice in the unit, with permission also sought for replacement windows.
If approved, plans state that the business would create 10 full-time jobs, and it would be open from Monday to Friday, between 8am and 6pm.
Planning documents state: “The application site is located on Lodge Drive within Culcheth village centre, adjacent to Culcheth Village Green.
“The building forms part of an established commercial parade and is surrounded by a mix of retail, commercial, community, and residential uses.
“The property is a single-storey, flat-roofed commercial unit constructed in brick with a glazed frontage addressing Lodge Drive.
“The site benefits from good pedestrian connectivity and proximity to public transport and local amenities.
“The premises has historically been used as a café with ancillary community hall functions.
“The building is well suited to continued commercial use due to its location, scale, and accessibility.
“The proposal involves a change of use to a dental practice, representing an appropriate town centre use providing essential healthcare services to the community.
“The internal layout has been redesigned to create a functional and compliant dental practice.
“The accommodation includes a reception and waiting area, multiple dental surgeries, decontamination and sterilisation rooms, an OPG/CBCT imaging room, staff offices, welfare facilities, an accessible WC, and circulation spaces.
“The layout ensures clear separation between public, clinical, and staff areas, while meeting operational and infection control standards.
“External alterations are minimal and include the replacement and upgrading of selected windows and doors.
“The overall form, scale, and appearance of the building remain unchanged, ensuring continuity with the surrounding commercial units.”
