EastEnders spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (4 August), which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer but hasn’t yet aired on BBC One.

EastEnders’ Suki Panesar-Unwin is set to get her way in her shocking baby plan – but one big condition could change everything.

Since discovering her granddaughter Avani was pregnant, Suki has been insistent on raising the baby as her own. She managed to stop Avani from getting a termination, convincing the teen to become her surrogate.

However, Eve – who doesn’t want kids – was infuriated to discover her wife’s plan, and accused her of manipulating Avani for her own gain.

In tonight’s episode, Eve remains firmly on the fence about the surrogacy as she continues to consider the best course of action. As Avani and Suki prepare for the 12-week scan, Eve highlights a problem with their secret agreement.

“Have you even thought about how this is gonna play out? Like, if you’re already 12 weeks, you’re gonna be showing soon. Then what?” she questions Suki.

Their discussion is interrupted by Vinny, who is back from Vancouver and has news about Ash. Eve encourages Suki to catch up with her son, using the opportunity to speak to Avani alone.

At McKlunky’s, Eve assures Avani that she can share her real feelings about the pregnancy – away from Suki’s judgement. The teen insists she’s not ready to be a mum, adding that Suki is desperate for a child.

“After everything she’s been through, don’t you think she deserves one last chance to be the mum that she always wanted to be?” she asks.

Eve remains unconvinced, and implores her wife to reconsider at the hospital. She insists Avani can’t handle the pregnancy, but Suki is reluctant to listen.

During the scan, Eve notices Suki’s joy and finally decides she’s on board with the surrogacy. But before they can celebrate, she issues a big condition – they need to tell Avani’s parents.

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
