Hull FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Hodgins as Club President.

Effective from 1st March 2026 for a three year term, the honorary role forms part of the club’s long-term vision, and honours Steve Hodgins’ ongoing commitment to the Black & Whites having acted as a significant commercial partner and a friend to the club for a number of years.

The reintroduction of the role reinforces the club’s commitment to heritage, community, and strong leadership as it continues to build for the future.

A loyal supporter for over 30 years, Steve Hodgins is a familiar and respected presence around the club, and had stood by his boyhood side for decades through both the highs and the challenging periods – firstly as a fan on the terraces of the Boulevard, before joining the club’s ever-growing family of corporate partners in more recent years through his own business ventures.

Steve Hodgins joins a list of significant figures who have held the position throughout our 161 year history, including the club’s first-ever international player Gilbert Harrison, and the pair Roy Waudby and David Kirkwood in the latter stages of the last century.

Speaking on his appointment, Steve Hodgins, said: “It is a huge honour to be invited to serve as President of Hull FC. This club has been a major part of my life, and I have always been incredibly proud to support it, both on and off the field.

“Hull FC means a great deal to me, and I’m very grateful to the board for their trust. I’m looking forward to playing my part in supporting the club, its supporters, and its future.”

Hull FC Chairman Andrew Thirkill, added: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Steve as our Club President. Steve’s support for this club is unquestionable and he has been there for Hull FC not just as a fan, but as a genuine supporter of what the club stands for.

“The board was unanimous in its view that Steve was the right person to take on this role. As we build a new culture and a stronger future for Hull FC, it feels entirely fitting that someone with Steve’s history, loyalty and integrity should become our new Club President.”
