Death in Paradise star Ben Miller is set to reprise his role in Austin, portraying Julian Hartswood, a cherished author whose career and standing are left in tatters after accidentally retweeting a white supremacist.
His world is turned upside down when Austin (played by Michael Theo), the neurodivergent son he never knew existed, suddenly enters his life. The news was shared on Instagram alongside a photo of Ben and the rest of the ABC series cast.
The caption read, “A new season of Austin is on the way. Coming to ABC iview and ABC TV in 2026. Catch up on the first two seasons of Austin now on ABC iview.”

Ben is best known for his role as Detective Richard Poole in Death in Paradise. His character was memorably killed off at the start of series three, with Kris Marshall subsequently stepping in as Humphrey Goodman.
He has since taken on further roles, including in the ITV drama Professor T.
Reflecting on his departure from the much-loved BBC series, Ben told Digital Spy: “Two weeks after I arrived in the Caribbean, Jessica found out that she was pregnant.
