Transport for London has confirmed the full list of routes that will face disruption across the capital this weekend (Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22). Three London Underground lines will be affected by partial closures and a reduced service this weekend.

From Thursday, February 19, until Sunday, February 22, the Metropolitan line will shut between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Amersham, Chesham and Watford. The closure, due to signalling improvements, will also lead to all Chiltern Railways services not running between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Marylebone via Amersham.

Once again there will be an extremely limited service from King’s Cross this weekend with only a limited number of trains to and from Potters Bar. You can use Thameslink services to reach replacement buses to Peterborough where rail routes continue.

The Northern line faces disruption this weekend, while there will be closures on the London Overground and part of the DLR.

TfL bosses have issued a travel warning about the ongoing two-week closure on the Tram network in South London – find out more below. Here’s everything you need to know:

London Underground closuresMetropolitan line

Thursday, February 19 – Sunday, February 22: There will be no service from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Chesham, Amersham and Watford. Chiltern Railways will also have no service between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Marylebone, via Amersham.

This is due to signalling improvements. Rail replacement buses will run to all affected stations, but journey times are expected to take longer than usual.

Northern line

Until late February: Southbound trains will not stop at West Finchley due to maintenance work on the footbridge. For southbound services travel northbound to Woodside Park and change for a southbound train.

If you require step-free access, travel north to High Barnet and change for a southbound train or alternatively use local buses. If you are travelling southbound and would like to exit at West Finchley, continue to Finchley Central and return on a northbound service.

London Overground closuresWindrush line

Sunday, February 22: No service between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction until 10.15am. Affected passengers can use local bus routes. Windrush line and Southern Railway services will not call at Clapham Junction during this time and will divert to/from Battersea Park instead.

Elizabeth line closures

Saturday, February 21: After 11.45pm trains will not stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell or West Ealing. Use local bus routes.

Sunday, February 22: No service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 7.45am. Use Tube services or local bus routes. Additionally, trains will not run between Paddington and Abbey Wood, and between Whitechapel and Stratford until 11.15am. Use Tube, London Overground or DLR services, or local bus routes. From 8am until 1pm trains will not stop at Burnham or Taplow, with a replacement bus service in place until 1pm.

DLR closures

Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22: No service between Bank and Tower Gateway, and between Poplar and West India Quay due to track maintenance. Use Tube or Overground services.

A two-week programme of upgrades has shut parts of the Tram network for a fortnight. Engineers will carry out track renewal work at Sandilands Junction, and between Gravel Hill and Addington Village, from Wednesday, February 11, to Wednesday, February 25.

As such, there is no service from East Croydon to Beckenham Junction, Elmers End or New Addington during this time. Replacement buses are operating between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction via Elmers End, and between East Croydon and New Addington.

These will serve all Tram stops except for Lebanon Road, which is less than 500 metres from Sandilands. The work will make journeys “more reliable” and reduce the rusk of future disruption, TfL said.

Mark Davis, general manager for London Trams, added: “We recognise the disruption this closure may cause and are sorry for any inconvenience. These works are essential to maintain a safe, reliable network.

“Renewing the track now will improve tram performance in the long term, helping to reduce the risk of defects and unplanned service disruption. We’ve timed the works to coincide with the school half-term to reduce the impact, and we’re providing alternative transport options and clear travel advice to help customers plan ahead.” Trams will continue to run as normal between East Croydon and Wimbledon.
