Plans to turn the floors above a former Wilko store in Chesterfield into an aparthotel are set to be given the go-ahead.
Chesterfield District Council’s planning committee has been advised by planning officers to approve proposals on Monday to convert the upper floors of the former store on Vicar Lane into a 70-bed aparthotel.
According to planning documents, the developer proposes adding two additional floors to the building – with the ground floor available for retail units.
A report submitted with the planning application states the proposed development represents “significant private sector investment” into the town centre.
