The only venomous snake that can be found in Norfolk is an adder and keen wildlife photographer Julie Smart captured several images of a group sunbathing on the grass in Pott Row, near King’s Lynn, on Sunday.
Adders are often found in heathlands, dry commons and sunny woodland clearings.
They are shy creatures, but attacks can happen if they are provoked.
Even though their bite is rarely fatal, immediate medical attention should be sought.

Symptoms can include dizziness, vomiting and swelling.
Last year, a dog died after being bitten by an adder in Thetford Forest despite an emergency vet visit.Â
Male adders can be identified by a zig-zag pattern along their black body whereas females are browner in colour and larger.
