Coronation Street viewers have been left floored after discovering Toyah Battersby star Georgia Taylor’s actual age.
Georgia first joined the cobbles back in 1997 as Toyah before leaving the ITV soap in 2003. Georgia returned to Weatherfield as Toyah back in 2016, where she has been a staple ever since.
Meanwhile, during her break from Corrie between 2003 to 2016, Georgia appeared on Life on Mars as Denise Williams, Casualty as Ruth Winters and Law & Order: UK as Kate Barker.
On Thursday 26 February, Georgia celebrated her birthday as she turned 46. Posting to Instagram, the soap star said: “Work birthdays are the best @coronationstreet” as she revealed the cards, cakes, presents and balloons her co-stars had surprised her with.
Meanwhile, taking to social media, soap fans were also quick to celebrate Georgia’s birthday on a Coronation Street fan page. One person said: “HAPPY 46TH BIRTHDAY WISHES TO GEORGIA HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY.”

To which a different account replied: “Wow 46 looking well, share my birthday”, a different fan wrote: “She doesn’t look that age! Pretty Lady!”, another follower said: “Happy Birthday beautiful lady” while another account added: “Happy birthday Georgia beautiful lady and a great actress.”
It comes as Coronation Street fans were left gobsmacked after learning Georgia Taylor’s real name during a chat on the On the Sofa podcast last summer.
During a discussion about filming a Corrie scene with Georgia, podcast host Ben Price, who plays Nick Tilsley, sparked confusion when he referred to the actress as Claire.
Reacting to the footage, one Corrie enthusiast remarked, “Who’s Claire? Toyah is played by Georgia Taylor.” A second clarified: “Her real name is Claire x”, whilst a third exclaimed: “I had absolutely no idea!”

Toyah actress Georgia was born Claire Jackson but altered her name due to its commonality when she joined the ITV soap in the late 1990s.
She previously revealed to the Mirror: “It’s not that I planned this to happen. But when I started with Coronation Street I had to register with Equity, the actors’ union, and at the time there seemed to be a hell of a lot of Claires so I had to think of something else.”
Georgia added: “I couldn’t tell you where I got Georgia from, other than I liked it, but my grandad’s surname was Taylor and he passed away not long before I got the part.”
