Axel Disasi’s long-term future at club level remains uncertain despite the success he has enjoyed at West Ham United.
Defender Disasi has proven an instant hit among West Ham United fans after joining the club on loan from Chelsea on Deadline Day.
The Frenchman has played a key role in helping Nuno Espirito Santo’s side improve defensively, with Disasi having kept clean sheets in two of three Premier League games in which he’s played thus far.

However, those hoping that the 27-year-old may stick around long-term may be disappointed.
Sources close to the situation have told Hammers News that Chelsea simply view his time in east London as a chance to play football, rather than seeing it as a precursor to a permanent move at this stage.
It’s a fluid situation and perhaps one that could change, but it’s also understood that Chelsea are paying a significant portion of his wages.
Finish this sentence: Axel Disasi is West Ham’s BEST DEFENDER since…
Axel Disasi is happy at West Ham United – for now
Prior to joining the Hammers, the former Monaco defender hadn’t played a senior game at professional level for almost nine months, which came during a loan stint at Aston Villa.
After rejecting West Ham in the summer of 2025, Disasi was put into Chelsea’s now infamous bomb squad, a period in which he was forced to train with the U21s.

What happens beyond the end of the season, however, is uncertain. If West Ham do not stay in the Premier League, then the whole idea of a permanent move for Disasi could be moot anyway.
The Frenchman looks at home while clad in claret and blue but there is no guarantee his story at West Ham will go beyond the end of the 2025/26 season, which would feel like a shame.
