“Guys, I’m actually scared,” Yarde said on Instagram stories. “There are missiles in the sky, and they’re protecting Dubai by hitting the missiles mid-air before they detonate.”
In another clip, he added: “Yeah, I’m shook.”
Yarde, 25-3 with 24 knockouts, has been based in Dubai since his November loss to David Benavidez. He is preparing for a summer return but has not announced an opponent, venue, or date. He remains a recognized contender at 175 pounds, though he is not currently in a mandatory position with any of the major sanctioning bodies.
He said he was at Kite Beach when he noticed what appeared to be an object burning in the sky. Yarde later referenced news coverage linking the incident to a missile that struck the Palm area.
Yarde uploaded short clips that appeared to show activity inside the airport before removing them from his account.
Yarde later referenced local news reports describing missile interception activity in the region. Official details were limited at the time of his posts.
Several British fighters use Dubai as a training base, including Hamzah Sheeraz and Lawrence Okolie and Chris Eubank.
At this stage, Yarde’s immediate concern is safety rather than fight preparation. His next move in the light heavyweight order remains undefined. Until a bout is signed and sanctioned, he stays outside the current title sequence while the division’s ranking structure continues to move without him.
