Twisted Sister is hitting the road once again — with a familiar face.

One month after Dee Snider left due to health concerns, the heavy metal band announced that rocker Sebastian Bach will take his place for a series of tour dates this fall.

“Twisted Sister members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda are thrilled to announce that iconic vocalist and front man Sebastian Bach will be fronting the band for a handful of select dates this fall,” a statement shared to the Twisted Sister website on Tuesday, March 3 read. “These appearances do not affect or conflict with Sebastian’s current or future solo touring schedule, which remains fully intact.”

Bach, 57, shared his excitement for the gig shortly after the news broke with an Instagram photo that featured him in a record store holding both a Twister Sister vinyl and a Skid Row vinyl, the band that made him famous.

“What a feeling! I am in shock! I am the Lead Singer of Twisted Sister🤘” he wrote in his caption. “I keep saying that over and over to myself and anybody else who will listen today 🤩I am absolutely honored and overjoyed to pay tribute to the legacy of some of my favorite music and musicians of my whole life!”

Bach said he’d called Snider, 70, earlier in the day and the two had a 45-minute conversation before the news went wide.

“We were both kind of emotional on the phone,” he wrote. “I know I was a little bit teary-eyed because I have nothing but respect for Dee and I have always been a fan and a friend of Dee, [his wife Suzette] and his wonderful family. We have agreed to do six shows this year together and I am really looking forward to this.”

Bach also thanked longtime guitarist Ojeda and founding guitarist French, and recalled his high school days when he painted the Twister Sister logo on the back of a denim jacket.

Twisted Sister canceled a previously planned 50th anniversary tour on Feb. 5 citing Snider’s resignation. The group previously toured in 2016 to mark their 40th anniversary.

Snider said in a statement in February that he suffers from degenerative arthritis, and is only able to “perform a few songs at a time in pain.” He also said that his intense rocking over the years has “taken its toll on his heart as well.”

“I don’t know of any other way to rock,” Snider said. “The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self.”

In a recent interview on the Beardo and Weirdo podcast, Snider gave Bach his stamp of approval, while revealing that he’d previously asked the rocker to be his back-up stand-in on Twisted Sister’s 2014 tour — a request Bach emphatically denied.

“He goes, ‘No way. That’s a thankless job. I’m not standing in for you, never,’” Snider recalled Bach saying. “I say god bless ‘em. I know there’s been rehearsals with him… I think he knows he has my blessing and I would never begrudge anybody continuing to rock.”

Bach also made headlines earlier this week after actress Christina Applegate revealed in her new memoir You With the Sad Eyes that she ditched her date Brad Pitt at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards in order to leave the event with Bach.
